Utilities
We have a range of custom written utilities available that could ease some of those onerous tasks from time to time.
We will also consider writing specific utilities if you so require. All utilities will be made generally available once written and fully supported.

Do you carry out bespoke work?
We never produce bespoke versions of our software - but if a customer requests or funds features, utilities or modifications to the product that we choose to undertake, that development effort will be made part of the general release of all software for all.
This is to prevent having multiple code streams for each customer which would be un-managable and detrimental to the long-term development cycle.
Many of the features of the standard software have been the result of customer requests in the past.

We suggest you contact us in the first instance by speaking to your Account Manager to discuss broad requirements. We will require a much more detail specification if we move ahead in order to provide approximate timescales and costs.

What does Supported mean?
If you have a valid support contract with IdeaGen you will be eligible for any updates to the utilities that may be made from time to time. Everytime a new release of the main software suite is developed, we upgrade any supported utility as part of the release readiness procedures we go through to ensure correct support and operation.
In the event that there is a problem due to the release of changes in the Operating System or Applications used on the client or server hardware, we will schedule in fixes as appropriate. These may not be until the next release of the main software.

Why is there a cost element to some utiltities?
There is a cost element to some where the utiltities are written by contracted staff and there is a maintenance overhead to ensure they are supported over time.
