For senior management, the ultimate value of a software application lies in the quality and relevance of output produced. Data stored within Workbench is invaluable management information. ReportQuest allows this information to be translated into meaningful statistics or detailed reports.

The module is designed and licensed to facilitate the dissemination of information throughout an organisation. Reports can be created to your management specifications and then run by anyone on the system with permission to do so.

Such reports may be fairly elaborately designed to reflect company layouts and can even incorporate images such as a company logo. Alternatively it is very easy to generate quick ad hoc queries to produce information ‘just in time’ in response to a last minute request for an important meeting. Report outlines can be saved as templates and reused to ensure accuracy and visual consistency.

Wizard Approach

Using a step-by-step Wizard interface you can easily select data without requiring a detailed knowledge of its structure.
Data fields (taken from other modules) are presented in plain English descriptions.
Wizard-like dialogs control the building of report filters and the selection and ordering of output tables.
The output may be viewed and printed without the need to design a report.
If preferred, the Query Wizard and Designer provide a visual interface and then generate an SQL query behind the scenes. Users then create a report layout using either the Report Wizard or the drag and drop facility, before previewing their generated report.

Web and email capability

Publish reports to your Intranet by simply saving the report as an HTML file.
E-mail reports with or without the data attached; this means that you can e-mail a report structure that can be used by lots of different people and against different databases.
Write comma deleted text files, allowing input into specialised reports such as spreadsheets (eg. Excel).

Security

ReportQuest security also uses a Folder and sub folder approach so that access may be restricted to users, or groups of users as you see fit.
User access is respected. Unlike other reporting tools, if you cannot normally see a record then you are not allowed to report on it.
